I was born in Tehran. My dad was really poor, but really smart. He was driven to learn. He couldn’t buy books, but he went to the local bookseller, and made an arrangement. He would rent the books for a few pennies a day, and read them by candlelight.

I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me. Being gay has given me a deeper understanding of what it means to be in the minority and provided a window into the challenges that people in other minority groups deal with every day.
I was offered a job in local television in public relations as a creative services director. From there, I was offered a job in advertising as their executive producer, and over time I moved to the business side and eventually became the head of account management for Hill Holliday. After that, I went into consultancy and from there I went into banking as the chief marketing officer.
Sundar left for the USA to get his Masters degree and Anjali stayed back. Now because Sundar was not financially sound back then, they could not afford to talk to each other often. The two would go without talking for 6 long months. And did it change anything? No! In fact, for them the distance just brought them closer.
Born in Germany, Kissinger was a Jewish refugee who fled the Nazi regime with his family in 1938. Henry Kissinger spent his high school years in the Washington Heights section of Upper Manhattan as part of the German Jewish immigrant community that resided there at the time. Although Kissinger assimilated quickly into American culture, he never lost his pronounced German accent, due to childhood shyness that made him hesitant to speak. Following his first year at George Washington High School, he began attending school at night and worked in a shaving brush factory during the day.
