Smita and Shabana Azmi had passed out from the same college and did same kind of movies. In an interview Shabana said, Smita and “I never became friends”. But added that, “We has so much in common – we came from similar background and were launched by the same director and worked in same kind of cinema.” They worked together in select movies like Mandi, Arth and Nishant. In Mahesh Bhatt’s Arth (1982), Smita showed excellent acting as a schizophrenic patient. Mandi was released in 1983, where she played a role of prostitute.

Shocking Story – When ‘Buniyaad’ actor Vijayendra Ghatge’s sister Sangeeta died in Air India’s Kanishka aircraft crash
“I can never forget the fateful day when a friend called to inform me about the plane (Air India’s Kanishka aircraft) crash. It was a day of hope and despair as the rescue operations were underway and we were hoping for survivors to be found” Vijayendra Ghatge mentioned in one of his interview. Soon after, their worst fears were confirmed. Later, Air India flew the relatives to the crash site. Sangeeta, who was the baby of the family, worked as a cabin crew with the airline.
I was born in Lucknow but my father, Raja Sajid Husain Ali, was the raja of Kotwara. He had become a raja at a very young age and thus, there was an attempt on his life due to which there was a danger to his life. He was packed off to Edinburgh to study. Ashok Kumar stopped celebrating his birthday after his youngest brother, Kishore Kumar passed away on the same date. Kishore Kumar passed away on 13th October, 1987 which also marked Ashok Kumar’s 76th birthday. Ashok Kumar was 18 years elder to him. Ashok Kumar loved his brother dearly and never celebrated his birthday after that.
Anand Bakshi was born in Rawalpindi, now in Pakistan. His mother died when he was five years old. His family migrated to India (Delhi) in 1947, in the aftermath of the partition, when he was 17 years old. The family arrived in Delhi, via a Dakota aircraft, and then migrated to Pune, then Meerut and settled finally in Delhi.
